What Happens at the Grand Reveal?
The Moment Your Story Comes to Life
For most people, the first time they see their portraits is on a phone screen. But we believe something so personal, so meaningful, deserves more than a quick scroll.
That’s why we created The Grand Reveal, a dedicated, cinematic moment where your story unfolds before your eyes in a way you’ll never forget.
Step Into the Experience
When you arrive for your Grand Reveal, you’re welcomed into a warm, living room–style space designed for comfort and connection. To one side, a table holds a Keurig machine with an assortment of teas, coffees, and hot chocolate. For something chilled, our fridge is stocked with Izze sparkling drinks and bottled water.
The seating area, complete with a couch, stools, and chairs, faces a 65-inch TV where your images will take center stage. Behind you, several striking metal prints line the walls, from intimate 20x20s to a bold 40x60 statement piece. These samples give you a sense of scale and finish, but in the reveal, the spotlight shifts entirely to you and your images.
A Cinematic First Look
The reveal begins with a carefully crafted slideshow set to music that’s chosen specifically for you, based on what we’ve learned in your consultation and during your session. We pace each image to the rhythm and emotion of the song so that the story unfolds in a way that feels personal and immersive.
“I had to dash to my car mid-reveal for tissues, its now a studio essential”
Almost every reveal we’ve hosted has brought happy tears. We’ve learned to keep a box of tissues in the room, because during one of our very first reveals, a client was so moved I had to make a mad dash to my car to grab a pack from the glove compartment. The slideshow kept playing, we laughed about the scramble, and she loved her images so much she’s returned for multiple sessions since.
Designing Your Legacy Artwork
We structure the whole process so the Grand Reveal isn’t a surprise conversation about products. We talk about your vision during the initial consultation, whether you’re planning a statement piece for the living room, a wall collection for a hallway, or an heirloom album for the coffee table. This early discussion lets us design your session intentionally so we capture the images that will fit your goals perfectly.
During the reveal, you’ll get to:
Compare our three album sizes, 8x8, 10x10, and 12x12, each available with customizable paper finishes (matte or luster) and cover materials you can feel in person.
See and touch examples of metal wall prints in various sizes.
Explore greeting card and announcement designs that incorporate your portraits, perfect for sharing with friends and family.
Sometimes, this stage moves quickly. Other times, especially when clients have many images they love and a set budget, it takes longer to make final selections. While we aim for the reveal to last 45–60 minutes, it’s not unusual for first-time clients to take 90 minutes, and friends we’ve worked with before have stayed for two or three hours, enjoying both the process and the conversation.
Who Should Attend the Reveal?
The Grand Reveal works best with an intimate audience, usually two or three people.
For couples, this means the two of you.
For families, it’s typically the parents and possibly a younger child.
For seniors, it’s the senior and one or both parents.
Keeping the group small helps maintain the personal, emotional nature of the experience and keeps the selection process focused and enjoyable.
The Finishing Touch: Retouching Before Production
Once you’ve made your selections, the images go to our retoucher before being sent to production. She brings over 15 years of experience to every image, cleaning up stray hairs, removing tiny distractions, softening wrinkles without making skin look unnatural, and making you look as confident as you feel at that moment.
The edits are so natural that if you looked only at the final image, you’d never guess what had been adjusted, but when we compare the before-and-after versions, the difference is remarkable. This means during your session, we can focus on momentum and connection rather than pausing to fuss over every tiny detail.
Why the Grand Reveal Matters
When you see your portraits in this kind of intentional, guided setting, they stop being “just pictures.” They become part of your story, art you’ll live with every day, or an heirloom you’ll pass down to the next generation.
The Grand Reveal is where your vision becomes real, where your investment transforms into something tangible, lasting, and unforgettable.
