At Ruwan & Diana Photography, our Holiday Mini Sessions are a calm, guided, and joy-filled experience, created for families who want something more meaningful than a quick camera click and a gallery link.
Why Our Holiday Minis Feel Different
20 minutes of photographing + 10 minutes of guided image selection: no waiting for galleries or guessing which image will print best.
Holiday cards are included, not an add-on: You’ll leave knowing exactly which image will be used for your professionally printed 5×7 cards.
A welcoming, styled studio with refreshments and curated flow: designed for ease, not chaos.
Best suited for up to five immediate family members: If you’d like to include additional relatives, we can simply extend your session for $35 per person so the pace stays relaxed and everyone is photographed comfortably.
What Happens When You Arrive
As you walk in, you’ll step into a cozy studio set up like a living room. We’ll greet you with warm drinks (coffee, tea, hot chocolate) or chilled sparkling Izze and water, and you’ll be able to settle in before we begin.
The space is dressed with sample metal prints and holiday artwork so you can see and feel the quality of what your own portraits will become.
What to Expect During the Session
You’ll have 20 minutes of guided photographing, where we gently direct you through flattering poses and natural interactions. Because we photograph with intention, every moment is used well, calm, efficient, and joyful.
Most kids actually do better in a short, well-structured session than a long one. We keep things moving, light-hearted, and fun to keep everyone engaged.
Real-Time Image Selection: No Waiting
After your session, you’ll review your best images on our 65-inch screen. We’ll guide you through selecting your favorite for your holiday card, and if you fall in love with others (most families do), you’ll have the option to add artwork or digital files, no pressure, just possibilities.
Your Holiday Cards: Designed and Printed for You
Unlike most mini sessions that end with a gallery link and a DIY print website, ours include 25 professionally printed flat 5×7 cards with euro-flap envelopes. You choose the images right in the studio, and we handle everything, from layout to printing, using the same heirloom lab we trust for our signature artwork.
Your cards come in a beautifully packaged box along with the envelopes just ready to be sent out to family and firends.
When Do Sessions Begin?
Holiday Mini Sessions are open and ready to be booked, and because each session includes a guided selection and design moment, we only open a limited number of spots to keep the experience intentional and never rushed.
